Will my insurance go up?
A windshield claim is a no-fault comprehensive claim — in most cases it won't affect your insurance premium.
Every policy is different, and multiple claims in a short period can be treated differently, so confirm with your insurer if you're unsure.
Step 1: Send the details you have
Start with your name, phone number, insurance company, and vehicle year, make, and model. A VIN helps us identify the right windshield when several glass options fit the same model. Tell us when and how the damage happened and whether the windshield has cameras, a heads-up display, heating, or rain sensors.
Send a photo if you can, along with your postal code and preferred appointment location: home, work, or our shop. If a claim is already open, give us the claim number. You do not need to open another one. A policy number is useful if available, but you can contact us to get started without every detail ready.
Step 2: We contact your insurance company
We deal with the insurer directly to help set up the claim and establish what the policy covers. For rocks, weather, debris, or vandalism, comprehensive coverage is usually relevant. If damage happened in a collision, tell us that clearly so the insurer can apply the appropriate coverage rather than treat it as an unrelated glass incident.
You usually do not need to call your insurer first. Occasionally, they need to confirm something with you personally. We explain the information they need and take care of the process after that. Reporting damage promptly helps avoid questions about timing and lets us assess a chip before it spreads.
Step 3: We confirm the approved work and your cost
After the claim is opened, we check the applicable deductible, glass eligibility, and any required calibration. Opening a file is not the same as having every item approved. We explain the scope before work starts, including whether OEM glass is covered or whether aftermarket glass is approved instead.
You pay your policy's deductible, if it has one, for the approved claim. We do not waive or pay it. If you request an upgrade outside the insurer's approval, we explain that separate cost before you decide. If there is no coverage, we can quote privately so you can compare your options without assuming insurance will pay.
Step 4: We arrange the glass and appointment
We match your vehicle's features, not just its make and model. Heated glass, rain sensors, acoustic layers, and heads-up displays can change the windshield needed. On camera-equipped vehicles, we also arrange ADAS calibration where required and confirm its inclusion with the insurer.
Same-day or next-day appointments are available in most cases, depending on glass availability. We tell you if a special order or claim confirmation changes the timeline. Our mobile windshield replacement service comes to homes and workplaces across Toronto. Share parking and access details so we can check whether the proposed location is suitable.
Step 5: We replace the windshield and explain the wait
The replacement itself usually takes about [REPLACEMENT TIME, e.g. 60–90 minutes]. Allow extra time if camera calibration is required. Installation time and safe drive-away time are different: the adhesive must cure before the vehicle can be driven safely, even when the fitting work looks finished.
The usual curing wait is about [DRIVE-AWAY TIME, e.g. 1 hour], depending on the adhesive and weather. We tell you the specific safe drive-away time rather than leave you to estimate it. If your appointment location or schedule cannot accommodate the work safely, we discuss an alternative plan, including service at our shop.
Step 6: We handle the invoice and paperwork
We bill the insurer directly for the approved claim and handle the supporting paperwork. You are responsible for the confirmed deductible and any separately agreed extras, not for chasing reimbursement for the approved insured amount. If something in the proposed work changes, ask us to explain it before proceeding.
A windshield claim from non-collision damage is usually a no-fault comprehensive claim and in most cases does not increase your premium. Several claims in a short period or a claims-free discount can be treated differently. Confirm those points with your insurer or broker if you are unsure before choosing to claim.
